Denis Evstuhin

Russian-born pianist Denis Evstuhin has earned international acclaim for his vibrant artistry, remarkable sound quality and brilliant virtuosity by audiences and critics alike. Denis has performed in major cities throughout Russia, Europe, and the USA. Evstuhin has appeared on stages of the world’s most prestigious venues, including Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, the Great Hall of the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow, the Great Philharmonic Hall and the Mariinsky Theater in St. Petersburg, as well as the Orchestra Hall in Minneapolis, the Fitzgerald Theater in St. Paul, and the Warsaw Philharmonic Concert Hall. Denis appeared as a soloist with the Mariinsky Theater Orchestra, Minnesota Orchestra, San Diego Symphony, Sioux City Symphony, and the Fairbanks Symphony.

In 2011 Denis made his New York debut with a solo recital in the International Keyboard Institute and Festival's "Prestige Series" at Mannes School of Music. Later he appeared in recitals at Dame Myra Hess Memorial Concerts in Chicago, the Chopin Society in Bern, Switzerland, and the Grand Philharmonic Hall in St. Petersburg, Russia. Recent performance highlights include performances at the St. Petersburg Philharmonic Hall and the Rochester Chamber Music Society.

Denis has earned top prizes in more than ten International piano competitions including the 1st Place at the Iowa International Piano Competition, the 3rd Place at the Minnesota International Piano-e-Competition, as well as the Paderewski Intl. Competition, Andorra Intl. Competition, Balakirev Intl. Competition, Rachmaninoff Intl. Competition in Los Angeles. In 2007 he became a semifinalist of the Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow.

Denis holds both Graduate and Post-graduate degrees in piano performance and pedagogy from the St. Petersburg Conservatory (studio of Eduard Bazanov and Elena Shishko), as well as M.M. and DMA degrees in piano performance at the University of Minnesota, where he studied with professor Alexander Braginsky. Since 2010 Denis serves as a Music Curator and a founder of the classical music series at the Museum of Russian Art in Minneapolis.
